Our Mission
Here at Cupcakes and Kisses we have stayed true to our mission since 2015 of making all our products from scratch with no artificial flavors, ingredients, or preservatives. We use local Pioneer sugar, fresh butter, eggs, cream, and flour. From our bakers to our decorators, everything is done with love and care. As a part of our mission we also do our best to help those who come our way. 60% of our hired staff are single moms, actively recovering addicts, homeless, and disabled.
We share this as part of our mission to make this world just a bit sweeter. In support of our bakeries, our customers help us in giving back to our communities in ways of donations to the local churches, schools, and nonprofits such as Voices for Children and Whaley’s Children Center. We couldn’t be more blessed! Thank you!

Meet the Family
Toni and Kevin started Cupcakes and Kisses with their 4 kids, Kora, Kendra, Koby, and Kam in 2015. Eli joined the family in the summer of 2024, partnering with the girls in owning our Oxford location! Both girls and Eli are now graduated with Koby and Kam to go! Kora has taken on our lead communications and social media role while Kendra is our lead decorator! Eli now facilitates sourcing our packaging and dry good needs. Kevin, Eli, and the boys take on most of our set up events like Finders Keepers Vintage Markets and Ashley Country Christmas as well as handling our rental properties! Toni is the “Wonder Woman” behind our brand! She oversees operations, staffing, and more! We are so appreciative of everything she does not only for our family but for our staff and communities too!
About Us
Cupcakes and Kisses was founded and brought to life by Toni and Kevin Barnett with their four kids, Kora, Kendra, Koby and Kam. As our bakery family continues to grow so will our products, locations, and dreams! We started off in 2014 with a dream to fill one of the Historic Downtown buildings in Holly (we are still there today!). We bought and renovated the space, adding in a kitchen and expanding the bathroom to not only accommodate our customers but our growing family as well. With 4 kids under the age of 10 and all homeschooled, most people thought we were crazy to open a bakery. We officially opened the end of March in 2015. Specializing in Made From Scratch sweets and using mostly family recipes. By 2018 we had a good hold of things and were inclined to open our second location in Owosso after buying a real estate property. We got to know the town and some of the small business owners who encouraged us to expand. We opened our Owosso location in April of 2019 with the help of a great team and community pushing us forward. In the summer of 2020 the Saint Johns DDA reached out to us, asking if we would come and occupy an empty building right off the main street of Saint Johns’ downtown. We officially opened our 3rd location in October of 2020. We took some time to continue growing our cupcake family and manufacturing center based in Owosso. In the summer of 2021 we bought a bigger building in West Town Owosso as we were outgrowing our current space. We moved our bakery to our manufacturing facility in February 2022, expanding our kitchen size to over double and gaining a warehouse for our drop locations. Over the years our family had a dream of starting a bakery in our hometown of Grand Blanc and in September of 2023 that dream started to come true. We finally made it into the space we had our eyes on for the longest time. We took our brand and turned it a little more modern from our original brand. Tying in our beloved pink and some hints of our inspiration bakery out of France, we turned an old Boost Mobile building to our favorite location yet. We opened our Grand Blanc location in March of 2024, just a few days before our original opening day in 2015! In September of 2024 we received an opportunity to take over a closed bakery in Oxford. We wanted to give our girls who were 18 and freshly 20 the opportunity to start their own business with Eli, their business partner. Eli came into our cupcake family over the summer of 2024 and has been a huge blessing to us, he has really turned into another one of our kids! The kids officially launched our Oxford location in mid November! It’s crazy to think that we just opened two stores in less than a year. We changed that to 3 quicker than we could say ‘cupcake’! We wanted accessibility for our customers but our West town Owosso location doesn’t provide that very well. In February of 2025 we took two weeks to renovate an office space on the border of Owosso and Corunna to turn into an outlet store for better and safer parking for our customers. We are a company of constant growth and we have gained so many family members along the way. We love and appreciate every one of our team members because we wouldn’t be here today without them!
